Stridetail
Privacy Policy
Stridetail ("we", "us") provides software that helps pet-care businesses run walks, visits, reports, and billing. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain English on purpose.
Who this policy covers
- Businesses and their team — owners and walkers who sign up for an account and use the app.
- Clients of those businesses — pet parents whose information a business enters into Stridetail, and who may receive report and invoice links. A business can also invite a client to its client portal. A client signs in to the portal with their email address and a one-time code we email to it — there is no password — and signing in creates a portal account tied to that email address.
- Website visitors — people who browse stridetail.com, including the pages we host there for pet-care businesses.
- Intake assistant users — people who talk or type to the AI intake assistant on a business's page hosted on stridetail.com, for example to request a meet & greet.
- Early-access leads — people who ask for early access to Stridetail through the form on our website.
For client records, the pet-care business is the one deciding what to enter; Stridetail stores and processes that information on the business's behalf.
What we collect
- Account data — name, email address, and login credentials for business owners and walkers, and the email address a client uses to sign in to the client portal.
- Client and pet records — names, contact details, addresses, pet profiles, care notes, and vaccine documents that a business enters about its clients. Home access codes (door, lockbox, alarm) are stored encrypted. They can be revealed only by the business's owner, by the walker assigned to a visit while that visit is in progress, and by a client, in the client portal, for their own codes. Every reveal is recorded in an audit log.
- GPS location during visits — while a walker records a visit, the app collects the walker's device location to build the walk route and distance. Location is collected only during an active visit, never continuously.
- Photos and short videos — photos and brief video clips captured during visits, and pet profile photos, stored so they can appear in reports. Each business records per client whether pet photos may be used in its own marketing.
- Payment records — invoices, deposits, and records of payments (for example, "paid via Venmo"). Stridetail does not process card payments and never collects card numbers or bank credentials. Payments happen directly between the business and its client on whatever method they already use.
- Email delivery data — when we send report or invoice emails on a business's behalf, we process the recipient address and delivery status.
- Intake conversations — when you use a business's intake assistant, your voice (if you use the microphone) or typed messages, the conversation transcript and summary, and the details you give, such as your name, contact details, and pet information. The transcript and details are emailed to the business you contacted.
- Early-access requests — the name, email address, business name, and note you enter in the early-access form.
- Push notification data — if you allow notifications in the app, your device's push token and the text of the notifications sent to it.
- Basic technical data — logs, IP addresses, crash reports, and device information needed to keep the service secure and working.
How we use information
- To provide the service: schedules, visit tracking, reports, invoices, payouts.
- To send transactional email (visit reports, invoices, account messages).
- To pass intake requests to the business you contacted, and to reply to early-access requests.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- To improve the product, using aggregate, non-identifying usage patterns.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data. Not account data, not client records, not location history. Ever.
- We do not use client or pet records for advertising.
- We do not show one business's data to another business.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Stridetail, under agreements that limit their use of it to providing those services, and when the law requires it. These providers are:
- Supabase — database, file storage, sign-in, and server functions. It holds account, client, pet, visit, and billing records, photos, and videos.
- Vercel — hosts our website and the web app, including report, invoice, and client portal pages.
- Resend — sends email on a business's behalf and on ours, and receives email sent to our stridetail.com addresses.
- ElevenLabs — runs the AI intake assistant on business pages and processes the voice, messages, and transcripts of those conversations.
- Mapbox — draws the map of a walk route shown in visit reports, and receives that route's GPS coordinates to do so.
- Sentry — receives crash and error reports from the app, including the app version and device details.
- Expo, Apple, and Google — deliver push notifications (Expo's push service passes them to Apple Push Notification service or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging) and app updates. They receive the device's push token and the notification text.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces on our website. Your browser requests them directly from Google, which receives your IP address.
- unpkg — a public code delivery network that serves the intake assistant's widget script on business pages. Your browser requests it directly from unpkg, which receives your IP address.
Retention and deletion
We keep data for as long as the account that owns it is active. Businesses can delete client records, pets, and documents inside the app. To delete an account and its data entirely, email us and we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. Clients who want their information removed can ask their pet-care business or contact us directly.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit; access codes are additionally encrypted at rest and gated behind the reveal rules described above, with an audit trail. Access to production data is limited to what operating the service requires.
Children
Stridetail is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and notify account holders by email.
Governing law
This policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
